Competitions and awards for young people

Competitions and awards reward ideas, research, essays, start-up pitches or academic results. Some lead to a prize, others to a place in a final event, a study offer or a fee waiver. The listings here explain who may enter, the stages and the deadline, with a link to the organiser. Entry should be free or clearly explained on the official page; be careful with any contest that asks for payment to "secure" a prize. Read the rules on originality and on how your work may be used before you submit.
