How we find programmes

We use official sources only: governments and public agencies, universities and their consortia, international organisations, official catalogues, feeds and open APIs. Our crawler identifies itself by name, follows robots.txt rules and waits between requests. We never get around sites that block automated access; programmes from those sites are entered by hand. We do not republish other aggregators' content.

How listings are written

  • First, facts are taken from the official page: dates, eligibility, countries, study level, amounts and the link.
  • A draft is written with the help of AI tools from those facts only. Source text is never copied, and an automatic check rejects wording that overlaps with the source.
  • Dates, amounts, countries and study levels in the text are checked automatically against the facts.
  • A person reads and approves each listing before it is published. Once enough listings have been reviewed, clean texts may be published automatically, and an editor re-reads a sample of them.
  • When a source's terms restrict reuse of its content, its text is never sent to an AI tool, and a person writes the listing.

Our guides are written by editors and show the date they were last reviewed. We keep to facts that are stable and always link to the official pages for the details.

Keeping listings current

We re-check official sources regularly, close calls after their deadline and mark annual programmes whose next round is expected. Conditions can still change at any time, so check the official page before you apply.

Reporting an error

If you spot a mistake, use the contact form, choose "Report an error" and include the page address. We check every report against the official source and correct errors as quickly as we can.

We never charge applicants

The site is free to use. We do not charge for listings, advice or "guaranteed" places, and we will never ask you for money or passwords. Anyone who does so in our name is a scammer.

Independence

World Chances is not affiliated with the programmes and organisations it lists and plays no part in selection. The site is funded by advertising, which is kept separate from editorial content and does not influence which programmes we publish or how we describe them. We do not publish paid listings.
