Australia Awards Scholarships

Australia Awards Scholarships are the Australian Government's main long-term scholarships for people from partner countries in the Indo-Pacific, Africa and beyond. They pay for a full degree at an Australian university so that graduates can return home and contribute to their country's development.

This programme runs every year; dates usually move little from one round to the next.
Who can apply
Citizens of the partner countries on the official list who live in their home country and are at least 18. You must not hold Australian citizenship or permanent residency, must meet the university's entry and English rules, and must agree to leave Australia for at least two years after the award. Each country sets its own priority fields.
What is covered
The award is fully funded: tuition, return air travel, a living allowance, health cover, an establishment allowance and an introductory academic programme before your course starts.
How to apply
Read your country's Australia Awards page for this round's priority areas. Choose an eligible course at a participating Australian university, prepare your documents and apply online through the OASIS portal. Shortlisted applicants are interviewed.
Deadline
The next round (2028 intake) is expected to open in early 2027. The last round ran from February to April. Dates can differ by country.
