A Chevening fellowship run by the Chevening Secretariat offering a five-month research residency at the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies. It is aimed at mid-career professionals and academics working on topics such as Islamic history, Islamic sciences, Islamic finance, public health, science and technology, and Muslims in the West. The fellowship is fully funded and includes support for living and research during the residency.

Who can apply
You must be a citizen and resident of one of the eligible countries: Afghanistan, Algeria, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Libya, Malaysia, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, Palestine, State of, Philippines, Senegal, Sudan, Syria, Tajikistan, Tunisia, Türkiye, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan. The scheme targets mid-career professionals and academics with a postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience and at least five years' professional or research experience; study level listed as professional.
What is covered
Full funding is provided. Benefits listed include a five-month research residency, living expenses for the fellowship duration, a return economy airfare, and an allowance for research activities.
How to apply
You apply by submitting an application with a short research proposal, taking part in an interview with the British embassy or high commission, and attending a final interview with OCIS representatives if shortlisted.
