DAAD EPOS: Development-Related Postgraduate Courses

DAAD EPOS scholarships fund selected development-related postgraduate courses at German universities for professionals from developing and emerging countries. The programme is financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.

This programme runs every year; dates usually move little from one round to the next.

Who can apply

Professionals from developing and emerging countries (the OECD DAC list) with a relevant first degree, usually no more than six years old, and at least two years of relevant work experience. You must meet the language and admission rules of the course you choose.

What is covered

The scholarship is fully funded: a monthly stipend, health insurance and a travel allowance. Many courses include a German language course before studies, and rent or family allowances may apply.

How to apply

Choose one or more courses from the EPOS list on the DAAD website and apply directly to the university, following that course's instructions.

Each course sets its own deadline, mostly between June and October of the year before studies start. Check the course page.
