The Fulbright Foreign Student Program is the US government's flagship scholarship for graduate study in the United States. It runs in more than 160 countries through US embassies and Fulbright Commissions.

This programme runs every year; dates usually move little from one round to the next.
Who can apply
Citizens and residents of participating countries with a first university degree completed by the start of the grant and good English. You must return home after the grant, and you cannot be a US citizen or permanent resident. Rules differ by country.
What is covered
The grant usually covers tuition at a US university, a monthly living stipend, return airfare, health insurance and visa support.
How to apply
Find your country's Fulbright page (the US embassy or Fulbright Commission) and apply through it during the national round. Shortlisted applicants are interviewed and later take English tests.
Deadline
Deadlines are set by each country. The 2027-28 rounds closed in mid-2026 in most countries; the next round is expected to open in spring 2027.
