The Government of Ireland International Education Scholarships (GOI-IES) support top international students from outside Europe to study in Ireland. The Higher Education Authority gives about 60 awards a year.

This programme runs every year; dates usually move little from one round to the next.

Who can apply

Students who are not EU, EEA, Swiss or UK nationals and who hold an offer for a master's, postgraduate diploma or PhD at an eligible Irish institution. Russian and Belarusian nationals are excluded, and you cannot have held the award before.

What is covered

A full tuition fee waiver for one year and a stipend of EUR 10,000 for one year.

How to apply

Get an offer from an eligible Irish university or college, then apply online through the HEA portal during the call with your statements and references.

Deadline

The 2027 call has not been announced yet. Past calls opened in late January or February and closed in March.
