The IMF Fund Internship Program (FIP) is a paid summer internship at the International Monetary Fund's headquarters in Washington, DC. Interns work on a research or policy project with IMF economists.

Who can apply

PhD students of any nationality, usually within one or two years of finishing, in macroeconomics or a related field, who will return to their studies after the internship. The last posting set an age limit of under 32.

What is covered

This is a paid internship of about 10 to 12 weeks, with supervised work alongside IMF economists. It can lead to later roles such as the IMF Economist Program.
