Traineeship Programme at the European Central Bank

A paid traineeship programme run by the European Central Bank in Frankfurt am Main for students and recent graduates in economics and finance. Who can apply

You must be at least 18 and a national of one of these countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden. Applicants should be students or recent graduates with at least a bachelor degree completed, at bachelor, master or PhD level. You must be fluent in English plus another EU language, have no more than 12 months professional experience, not have already done a traineeship of more than six months at the ECB, and not have prior ECB employment or traineeship.

What is covered

The programme is paid. The standard trainee grant is 1170.0 EUR per month. A grant for PhD (>=2 years) is 2120.0 EUR per month. Additional benefits include accommodation paid if relocating over 50 km, the option to stay in partner residences, a temporary accommodation lump sum where applicable, contracts of three to six months with extension possible up to twelve months.
