UN Volunteers (UNV) places volunteers with United Nations agencies around the world. UN Youth Volunteers start their careers in international work, while UN Volunteer specialists bring several years of experience to an assignment.

Who can apply
People of any nationality. UN Youth Volunteers are aged 18 to 26 and usually have a degree. International UN Volunteer specialists are 25 or older, with a degree and several years of relevant experience. You need working English, French or Spanish.
What is covered
Volunteers receive a monthly living allowance, a settling-in grant, travel at the start and end of the assignment, insurance, annual leave and a resettlement payment at the end.
How to apply
Create a profile on the UNV platform, then search and apply for assignments that match your profile. Shortlisted candidates are interviewed by the host UN agency.
Deadline
Assignments are posted all year, each with its own closing date. Some youth posts are funded for specific nationalities.
